Belkin F5D 7230 router and the red light of doom

I'm running uTorrent through Windows XP and through Wine on Ubuntu. I can download but speeds are sometimes very slow. It says my ports are not open. I get the red badge of doom (used to be green, and occasionally the yellow triangle).

I've done the port forward thing (which displayed my router info as a 7230-v4 btw!). Ports are still listed as closed.

I've updated the firmware several times, and even reset the router to test that. No joy.

I've changed the port and set up a new open port to test it. Nothing!

Thing is, speeds seem to be fine, just that downloading torrents is slower than it should be, and surfing is fine, as is wireless.

Any ideas?
