What modem are you using? What router? What firewall? Have you read the setup guide?

If you have a router, you'll have a LAN IP. It's not hard to check.

If you're behind a NAT, then you're behind a router...

Start > Run > ipconfig /all

Try visiting the default gateway IP address in your browser.

You are behind a router. Your IP address gives it away.

It may be at your internet provider, but you do have a NAT in the way.

If it's an ISP enforced NAT (which it seems, since you said you have no router), you'll never be able to forward.
