stig
Hi,I created a torrent file ans started to seeding a week ago. No I move the torrent file to another location (for example from "C:\my.torrent" to "D:\my.torrent"). Then when utorrent starts, it says that:Error: can't open torrent file:C:\my.torrentWhat should I do?
Firon
Why are you trying to move your .torrents?
stig
I want to rearrange my torrent files because they are messy...
Firon
the .torrent storage folder is not for the end user to rearrange. It's utorrent's store of torrent files. All you can do is move -every single- torrent file to another folder (and edit the preference accordingly), but that's it. I looked everywhere but all I found was that I can set download location which is not my problem.
Firon
I believe it's in Other. "Store .torrent files in"
stig
It didn't help. Let me explain more:C:\my torrents\1.torrentC:\my torrents\2.torrentC:\my torrents\3.torrentC:\my torrents\4.torrentC:\new\5.torrentC:\new\6.torrentC:\new\7.torrentThat option you said is set to "C:\new".In the next step, I crated a torrent ("8.torrent") and saved that in "C:\new". After a week (and seeding) I moved it from "C:\new" to "C:\my torrents". When I started the utorrent again, "8.torrent" has a cross icon and the status said that error can't open "c:\new\8.torrent".utorrent is still looking for the old location. DreadWingKnight
Those settings aren't retroactive. You need to remove and re-add any torrents you move.
stig
Then if I do that, will the amount of uploaded for that torrent (8.torrent) reset? I think it will reset the upload statistic. I want to keep track of how many gig that torrent uploaded.
Firon
What you can do is use Ultima's bencode editor to edit your resume.dat and correct the paths to the new location.http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=31306
