cgold
Was DL at 50Kbs on several torrents even though I have the fastest dsl speed availble. Searched the net and tried all the tips and tricks I could find. Found out about BitSpirit, downloaded it and couldn't believe the difference. I didn't have forward a port or anything. It automatically detected my PC setup and set itself for best performance. Now my downloads are 250KBs if theres only 1 or 2 seeders, 600KBs most of the time. I'm not knockin' Utorrent, but if all else fails give BitSpirit a try.
jewelisheaven
... k?IIRC it's a bitcomet clone, off an old codebase. I can expect a likely reason for the increased speeds the same as bitcomet... many peers mask as HTTP servers. If you can't download http://slackware.com/torrents/ @ 6Mbit down in uT, your ISP mucks with bittorrent traffic.
