only1lestat
I honestly looked through a lot of strings and so if this was already posted I'm sorry. There were a lot. Here's the problem. Vista Basic OS. Successfully installed, ran and downloaded files and they work just fine, etc. However, when I go to the quicklaunch, desktop and program list to load the utorrent program after I exit it, the shortcuts disappear. I even did a search in the start search bar and all that comes up is the website. I have to download the software and reinstall it everytime. I can't uninstall it to reinstall it because I can't find it. I've looked under programs and features in the control panel and it's not even listed as being installed. It's just a real pain in the patoot to go back to the site and redownload it
jewelisheaven
When you run uT... do you say "YES" to the installation dialog? If so, you should get a prompt to 1) allow UAC to install it to %PROGRAM FILES% and 2) see the shortcuts themselves being created (little arrow on the icon) when you select which shortcuts to create.I don't know of ANY automated way to remove shortcuts/installed programs unless your computer has some extra monitoring app... Check out the sticky and copy-paste the HiJackThis log below I guess ?
