king112 Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 searched the site but couldn find anythin.. please help..not connectable. a firewall or router is limiting your network traffic. You need to open up a port so others can connect to you.max im gettin is no more than 9kb/si have BT Voyager 2000 wireless ADSL Modem..please help =/EDIT: I now have a yellow triangle which says: No incoming connections. Unless the icon turns green it could indicate a problem with your network configuration.what do i do =/
jewelisheaven Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 You search around here? Have you followed the setup guide from http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.php ? Have you searched for your modem make/model?The network status icon is useful... be sure you're even able to get > 9 KiBps on your connection... http://slackware.com/torrents/ test that for 1 - 3 minutes.
king112 Posted May 31, 2008 Author Report Posted May 31, 2008 yar thats done.. im gettin about avraging 20kbs its still low right..EDIT: does changing the priority of the download make any difference? will it help?
jewelisheaven Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 Priority is in relation to the times you're running multiple torrents. It's an exponential curve of where available, bandwidth for HIGH comes before NORMAL and LOW, but it doesn't ENSURE you're always pumping out data.
king112 Posted June 3, 2008 Author Report Posted June 3, 2008 hmm.. okay now i have a green tick and says everthin is workin as it should but im still getting low rates.. less than 10kB/s and there are a lot of seeders and peers (185 & 650)..whys that :S
ggbarnum Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Your ISP could be throttling bittorrent traffic, at certain times of the day I am unable to get more than 28k a sec due to the irritating nonsense. Bell we are looking at you there are tests you can run to check this.
jewelisheaven Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Test a known working torrent like OpenOffice or Slackware would be a good start. They're in the setup guide. What you can do is see if your speeds are ALWAYS like this or if you can figure out times of the day / week where the shaping doesn't exist. If you're on Bell OR ITs PARTNERS, you're likely shaped 4p-2a localtime every day of the week.
king112 Posted June 3, 2008 Author Report Posted June 3, 2008 yh the torrent is cool.. to be honest my dl/ul speeds are almost always very low.. but in some very rare sercumstances i see them soar up to 80 (thats very high for me.. normally i dl at about 10kbs) dont think its time related though =/
