Cpu spiking with build 10524

i don't know if its a bug, but since upgrading to 1.8 build 10524, my cpu doesn't seem to rest anymore. spikes are on the range of 8-45% usage as can be observed in the task manager. these are caused by the process TmPfw.exe which is part of my Trend micro internet security suite. i think its the personal firewall process. any advise?

i have the same problem kind of. i have intel q6600 and utorrent latest beta on vista ultimate sp1 uses are 20% cpu when the windows open and scrolling through the peer list is delayed. utorrent uses all my cpu on one core when the windows open and when its in the tray its at 10%

i also never experienced this on the other beta releases

will try restart and post results

shes fine now

i've never had this problem on previous stable and beta versions. anyway, its not really a big problem since my cpu temp does not rise above 50c with this cpu spiking thing. thanks anyway to the advise. but i'm not ready to change my firewall as yet. the spikes only last for a fraction of a second and does not really hurt my p4.

one more observation. when i pause the torrents, the spiking ceases. could this mean the culprit could be in the disk writing of the data being downloaded? sorry for my ignorance. i'm precisely what my name suggests. thanks.

I have a similar problem with the latest beta (10504). I have my firewall (comodo and windows' one) disabled but the cpu usage of utorrent is rather high from 20% to 40% in Core2 E8400 system. I'm using vista 64.

I don't use any anti virus or spyware program by default except for Windows Defender.

Running processes of my system.

It was 10524. :)

Aha, thanks for the advice. The problem is solved with 10431.

ps. By the way, the cpu resource of utorrent seems to eat up more when compared to my 5-year-old computer (barton 2500+, 1.8GHz). The compatibility of 32 bits programs is not so good in vista 64. I've seen it in other 32 bits programs.
