Sainty
Hey there,I learned that some trackers/peers will not or only partially upload to clients who don't upload much. I was wondering though, what is checked for this, the total amount uploaded for all files, the share ratio for the file that I'm downloading or the amount of data for this file that I've uploaded so far? Lord Alderaan
The statistics on the tracker have NOTHING to do with this. In fact a tracker can't even influence this.It is done through the BitTorrent mechanics itself. And it is on a PER TORRENT basis. So a good ratio at a trackers statistics page has no influence whatsoever even a high ratio on a single torrent won't actually influence this.Simply having a higher upload limit and not having too many torrents actively uploading at the same time might result in higher download speeds for those torrents. Sainty
Ok, but what has the influence, the share ratio or the actual amount of uploaded data? Since I'm still downloading the file, the ratio will remain at ~0,5 because my down speed is twice the up speed.
Firon
Your global ratio is meaningless. If you upload more to a peer, then that peer will upload more to you. That's it.
