agree2disagree
How do I setup my utorrent settings so it only connects to 3 URLs? Would turning off DHT resolve this? I would like to keep my torrents completely private and I do not want my uTorrent to connect to a bunch of networks when it starts up. I only want the 3 networks to see each other only. Thanks in advance!
DreadWingKnight
http://btfaq.comBitTorrent isn't a traditional p2p network. The concept of "private" torrents is a broken one as well (read).
jewelisheaven
uT doesn't connect to URLs unless the torrent/you put in "Web Seeds".
Firon
I don't think you understand how torrents work.
Switeck
The poster may be referring to 3 URLs in the tracker list...if the torrent has more than 3 trackers and for some weird reason you only want to connect to peers+seeds ON those trackers, then you'd have to block the other trackers' ip addresses using ipfilter.dat or block the URL using a modified HOSTS file that routes their URL to 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.
jewelisheaven
Uhm, no.... You can just remove the trackers before you start. If it's private=1 then you're "safe" from extra connection attempts unless there's other clients which don't respect private=1 on the swarm. Switeck
There are crazy private multi-tracker torrents out there. And if you want to boost your ratio on only a couple of those trackers...well, who are we to judge?
