jvcxx Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 I recently needed to install utorrent to download a 120 MB file. I am now showing 1.35 GB uploaded. I presume this is sufficient and I can now delete this file (by remove and delete .torrent + Data). I am also showing D: 1.3 kB/s T: 5.3MB. What can I be downloading? I now want to disable utorrent since I may not need to use it again soon (if ever). What is the best way to do this? Do I need to close the port?
Firon Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Proper etiquette is to just get a ratio of 1.0. Getting higher is just being nice.Yes, you can remove it at this point. And all you have to do is close utorrent and never open it again. The download is protocol overhead + DHT.
Switeck Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Change uTorrent's settings to NOT load on window's startup. Then once you close it, it will NEVER run again unless you manually run it again.
jvcxx Posted June 5, 2008 Author Report Posted June 5, 2008 Hi Switeck, I've read all the links and the User's Manual, but I can't find any information on how to change uTorrent's settings to not load on Window's startup.
jewelisheaven Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 It's in the Preferences. Start at General and go down from there.
