rnl19862005
I need help. When I try to start some torrents on uTorrent I get an ( Unable to load "name of torrent": Invalid torrent file!) error message. I have gotten torrents from these within the past week and I can start other torrents from other sites. I even tried to download and start a torrent that I had already downloaded in the past and it gave the error message too. Can anyone tell me if this is a problem with my uTorrent or with the website I'm downloading from or something else?
jewelisheaven
How are you loading them? If the site requires cookies adding it from the Ctrl-U dialog is required, or also I think you can put default :COOKIE: information in the rss feed. rnl19862005
I download the torrent directly from the site and then open them in uTorrent. I don't use the RSS feeds and I allow cookies from the sites I download them from. Can I give you any other info that will help you help me? jewelisheaven
... if you download it from the site and it's invalid, be sure you have cookies saved. To check the torrent to see if it's valid, try opening it with BFE in my signature. Ultima made the awesome utility....
rnl19862005
I have cookies saved and I tried to open it with the BFE but it said[bDecode]Start: "file name"[Error] Failed to decode the file "file name"I was using firefox so I tried using IE when I just clicked on it it went to a "cannot display" page. When I tried right-click and "save target as..." it came up "Internet Explorer cannot down load 'file name' from 'web page'. The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response." jewelisheaven
Sounds like problems at their end then.... if you open the ".TORRENT" file in a text editor does it look like html? are there things like 8:announce or 13:creation date ?
rnl19862005
I opened it with notepad and it was blank same with word pad. Also when I download it, it says 0 KB on the file like its not even downloading. The site says other people are seeding it though so I should have been able to get it. And I can download other .torrent files and get them to work from other sites. DreadWingKnight
Then the site isn't actually sending out valid torrents. Not a uT issue at this point.
