beeceebee
I am new to all this and apparently in over my head. What I did do is follow instructions. I have set up a static address, configured the router as indicated a portforward.com and made certain that my firewall is not blocking anything.Despite all this the speed guide still says that the port is not open and makes reference to an ip address that is not even close to the static one. When I check my connection speed this same address comes up as my ip address.I have tried ignoring all this and downloading a TV show. If I let it continue it would have finished by next week some time. The little triangle is yellow (orange) and clearly shows a connection problem.I do not have a clue what to do next. HELP!!!! gfxl
When forwarding the port make sure the IP you enter is of the form "192.168.2.100" and not "192.168.2.1". The two 0s at the end must be added.
jewelisheaven
the IP address you need to enter in the forwarding rule is the one from start->run->cmd /k ipconfigThe one not even close should match http://canyouseeme.org so you can assume it's not a proxied connection from your ISP.
