odyssey
IE. I do not want to seed the file after I have downloaded it (regardless of ratio). Can uTorrent do this? If not, is there any other one that can?My ISP is having a new cap on data transfers.. and seeding on BT is causing me to go over..

Lord Alderaan
Then BitTorrent might not really be the best way to download for you. Ideally BitTorrent wants you to go for a ratio of 1:1 which would mean that every GB you download is doubled (towards your cap) because to be reasonably fair you'd have to upload it back. You could of course take more then you give and up to a certain extend this doesn't have to hurt the health of a torrent (other people) but strategically hit-n-running (stopping a torrent right after you completed the download) will hurt a lot of torrents and thus µtorrent does not really provide this option.Besides BitTorrent uploads while you are downloading and that upload counts towards your cap too. I suggest you find alternative means to download materials or find a new different ISP.
Switeck
Rogers ISP has a hard-earned bad reputation.Admittedly, Bell Canada (Sympatico) is working hard to make their reputation even worse with their throttling of dang near everything too...including throttling of smaller ISPs that connect through them!
