cool9
I've been using uTorrent for 3 years and never had a problem and I love it. I adjusted the settings a little and had trouble starting downloads so I went to the speed guide and set parameters to correct speed (768 kbps; DSL) and still have trouble. When I download a torrent or start an old torrent I don't get any connection but if I restart uTorrent all the torrents will connect and start to download no problem. Can't figure out what is wrong. jewelisheaven
What's the "trouble" indicator in uT? Does the rest of your internet work when this happens? Can you download http://slackware.com/torrents/ while this happens? How long does it take from start-up for this to happen?
cool9
I don't get any trouble indicator. The new torrent just stays red and doesn't show any peers. The tracker will continue to say "Updating". If something is already downloading it continues to download. I realize a lot of time you have to wait 15-30 minutes for trackers to start but recently they have not been starting at all. Then like I said, if I restart uTorrent I will get peers right away with these torrents and start downloading. Using XP SP2. The only thing I've fiddled with over the last few weeks have been the uTorrent connection parameters because originally (2 years ago?) I made them up myself and was trying to tweak them but then a few days ago I set them to speed guide DSL parameters.
jewelisheaven
And this is on a 1.8 beta build? Upgrade to the latest version....If you're having connectivity problems be sure your router isn't freezing from the load the peers put on it from being forwarded.
