Acekiller
Hi all, I have a problem with my connection.I recently move to a new apartment but stayed with the same internet provider (Eastlink). I had no problem with the port issue before when I was using a dlink router with my roommates (using portforwarding techniques). However, now I am having trouble to get green light even without a router?!I purchased a wrt54g v8 router and upgraded firmwire to see if it helps the issue, it doesn't. I use vista premium running directly from modem to laptop.ive checked all the settings and they are as normal, the NOD32 and excluded uTorrent. DL speed is around 15kb/s most of the time, upload is at aroound 10kb/s (i capped UL at 10kb/s, but unlimited for DL). i can even download files from sites at around 300kBs so i know i have a problem with uTorrent, im using uTorrent 1.7.7http://speedtest.dslreports.com shows 1962kb/s DL and 626kb/s UL.Please let me know if you have any idea or need anymore info. Thanks! Switeck
NOD32 may be causing problems...especially v2.7 OR if running on Vista. Can you test without it installed?(Make sure window's firewall is enabled before you do, as uTorrent can configure that.)1st and 2nd link in my signature.1st one is for troubleshooting, and tells you what information you'll need to give us if the problem isn't solved quickly.2nd link gives suggested settings for uTorrent based on your max sustainable UPLOAD speed.NOTE: Max sustainable UPLOAD speed is far less than max download speed for most connections.Bad settings may work ok with many torrents...then cause all kinds of problems on very busy torrents. You may also want to use lower settings than your connection can handle because it is shared with others or due to monthly bandwidth quotas.
