I've looked about, and tried fixing this using the "Set program access and defaults" in the control panel, but it does not seem to be changing anything. This started after installing SP3, AVG8, and Ad-Aware2008. Possible conflict with virus/spyware programs?

EDIT

Also, this is V. 1.7.7. I have tried turning off Ad-Aware, but AVG8 is hard to get rid of short of uninstalling.

EDIT

Here is the Hijack this log.

And when you open firefox it doesn't ask you if you want to set it as default? There's problems with it detecting custom pathing ... like if you have a mobile firefox profile you can't use built-in uT open search box....

What about if you open IE... does it ask if it can be default? :/ I don't know. That's a pretty vanilla install. Though granted i haven't tried SP3 just yet to poke at it...
