fox Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 I have tried getting rid of NAT error on a wireless network that I'm using. (Al WaysOn Wireless). With them I don't have a modem or router just the card built into my computer. UPnP is on (Windows XP/2003) and I start off without NAT eror but don't get network ok, then after 10 minutes or so I get NAT error. I've looked up in FAQ's, etc. but haven't seen anything for this situation as far as I can tell (although I may not understand enough to sort it out). Any help?
Firon Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 So you have no modem or router, you just have a wireless connection you get from a tower or something? Or 3G wireless? If this is the case, you're probably SOL, as the ISP has full control.
1c3d0g Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 I'm pretty certain you can't forward your ports with your particular Internet service, 'cause I remember someone having the same issue with your type of connection a while ago... :/
Firon Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 No, the other guy had satellite. But, he had the same problem.
1c3d0g Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Oh yeah...thanks for refreshing my memory. Yeah, the guy couldn't get access to any port forwarding feature, so he was basically stuck with crappy speeds. That really sucks, and ISP's have to do something about it... :/
Switeck Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 No, the other guy had satellite. But, he had the same problem.A friend of mine is on satellite and his ISP only gives out LAN addresses. Seems there's very few real ips shared by many people at once.Port-forwarding the satellite is out of the question.
fox Posted January 2, 2006 Author Report Posted January 2, 2006 So what can I expect in terms of down load rates?
Firon Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Probably slower than expected, but they should be acceptable in most cases.
fox Posted January 2, 2006 Author Report Posted January 2, 2006 I'm sfraid that i dont know what's expected. My computer says that my connection is 10mb/sec.
