sdjjubjub
Usually when I download a file via frostwire or over aim or pretty much anywhere, when I press download it takes a matter of seconds. I was wondering why a am only averaging 78kbs with Utorrent?any ideas
Switeck
ComCast has taken a dim view to BitTorrent traffic, so don't expect top speeds with it. However, you should still be able to download faster than you are. What settings are you using in uTorrent (as shown by Speed Guide CTRL+G)?Are you firewalled? What's the measured sustained speed (as opposed to temporary bursts that ComCast gives) of your connection both down and up?Have you tried the 1st and 2nd link in my signature? sdjjubjub
I am using connection type xx/10Mbit
jewelisheaven
You don't get xx/10Mbit (meaning 10 Mbit upload) outside the top like 10 metropolitan areas. Try it closer to your presumed upload which may be up to 1Mbit outside the metropolitan areas... Are you uploading consistently near the max theoretical of 90-95 KiBps
Switeck
Actually, use a setting with equal or LESS upload speed than you have.So if measured tests show you have 850 kilobits/second upload speed...then you'd have to settle for xx/768k (768 kilobits/second upload speed.) Ultima
At any rate, BitTorrent isn't purported to be the fastest protocol around. Speeds are not guaranteed.

jewelisheaven
Right so xx/2Mbit maybe... but be sure you can SUSTAIN > 180 KiBps (it shouldn't be jagged.. but a straight line ON your limit. If it's below the limit, set your upload to THAT NUMBER for now... testing is needed to see if that's a shaped value or not.
Firon
Powerboost gives you temporary boosts in speeds. That is not your connection's real upload.
