paystubs
Hey there,I'm looking for some help getting a port open on my connection. My hookup is like this:Teksavvy DSL -> Siemens SpeedStream 4200 DSL modem -> US Robotics 8054 wireless routerI followed the instructions I found on portforward.com for the router, but with no luck. I tried putting my torrent box into DMZ and the behaviour was the same. Then I did some more searching and thought that the SpeedStream (which had been from Bell Sympatico) might be the block. This modem has locked firmware that prevents me from logging in to change any settings, but I found instructions here ( http://www.dslreports.com/faq/sympat/2.3_Speedstream_4200 ) so I could make sure the router was in bridged mode. I've done all the above and still can't get an open port. Any suggestions? Thanks, paystubs
Switeck
There may also be a software firewall on your computer causing the problems. Such are often hidden in antivirus software now.
jewelisheaven
...Start over. The modem and the router are two pieces of hardware yes? Only one needs to be in bridge mode, and PREFERRABLY it should be the one FARTHEST from you. I.e. you login to http://192.168.0.1 to get the USR router. From the router, it connects to the modem's NAT on say http://192.168.2.1Please specify which device you were trying to put into bridge mode, and if you're unsure whether you did it correctly pictures or ALL the IP address/setup information would be useful... LAN for your USR should be 192.168.0.X, WAN may be 192.168.1.X if the modem is in NAT mode. On the modem, LAN would be 192.168.1.X and WAN would be your internet IP as seen from http://canyouseeme.org
