AtotehZ
I have a problem with getting enough seeds compared my amount of peers. At the moment my maximum allowed peers are at 150, but whenever i start the torrent i want to download, it takes 5 seconds and then there are 130 peers, only 2 seeds and the peers are still rising. When the peers reach a total of 150 i only have 4 seeds, and that ratio doesnt change. This means that im uploading at full power, which i would do at 40 peers as well, but my download speed is only at 200kb/s. I tried increasing maximum allowed peers to 300 instead, then my seeds were at 7 before it was full, so its not that there are not enough seeds, just that the peers are filled too fast for them to connect. Firon
You have far too many connections. Even for 100mbit 300 connections is too much. Open the Speed Guide, choose your UPLOAD speed in kbit/s, and leave it alone.Make sure you forward ports too.Furthermore, seeds are not guaranteed to give you better speeds. At all. AtotehZ
i know 300 is too much, it was an experiment, my standard is 125... but it DID work. That is why im posting here. I have rigged my Router so it can stand the pressure (firmware, custom processor), so it can actually work at 300 peers, BUT... If it is possible to increase the amount of seeds without increasing peers so drastically, it would be gr8. i have 10/10mbit...
Firon
The problem with so many peers is that you greatly increase the bandwidth used by overhead. Instead of REAL data transfer, you waste tons of bandwidth on TCP and BT overhead. And like I said before. More seeds will NOT HELP.
