plain_jane
I've been trying to use utorrent but I continuously get an error message that says: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. I believe I am the target machine but I don't know how to change this. I have disabled my firewall and from there, I am not sure how else to proceed. I also do not see anyone in the list of peers or anything in the list of trackers.I am not a complete beginner but I am new to this area of tech. Any help would be greatly appreciated. jewelisheaven
Are you sure the tracker is working? Does it happen on http://slackware.com/torrents/ ?
plain_jane
I've never actually been able to make an active connection with utorrent. I can't connect with bitcomet either.I think it may be somewhere in my ports but I'm not sure. I am using WinXP Home and a Speedstream 5100 DSL Modem. I also use slsk on a regular basis. It seems to work properly and have no issues. I've tried to enter my ip address but it always tells me that it can't display the webpage. I know I'm connected. Firon
You generally can't disable a firewall. You have to enable and configure it properly, OR uninstall it altogether.
