bigcheese Posted June 26, 2008 Report Share Posted June 26, 2008 Hey guys i would like to use a proxy to completely hide my ip from the world. I dont know whether to use http, https, sock4 or sock5. I have been using socks5 and using it for peer to peer connections. Will this successfully conceal my ip? When I do this none of the trackers seem to work but I can still download the file. If you "conceal" your real IP, you must pass on your proxy's IP so others know who to connect to. I think that means "IP/hostname to report to tracker"... but if the tracker isn't getting that IP, I'd be concerned whether your proxy IP or your real IP were being advertised in the swarm.
