Biges Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Hi,when I set both DW and UP to unlimited with preffering upload turned on (seed priority), I get connection speed something like 30/15kBs (20-35/12-15), but when I set maximum upload speed to exactly 15kBs (!) my DW falls down to 2-5kBs, in this case if I turn off seed priority, both UP and DW are crawling in the deeps of Abbys (2-3kBs).The question is not about if I have problems with speed, it's just I'm curious about this anomaly. Thanks for your opinions.Allow me one more: Is it possible, maybe by combination with a different program, to use a proxy even for outgoing and incoming connection? I believe it's possible with BitComet. I have pretty nasty "Fair User Policy" (crap), ie my ISP blocks P2P communication to a speed of 4kBs excepts nights (16 hours a day, $!)
Firon Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 Because if you can only upload at 15 KiB/s, setting it to 15 would choke your connection. You should use 11 or so as your upload. :/And uh, I think you can use SocksCap to use a proxy for all connections.
Switeck Posted December 31, 2005 Report Posted December 31, 2005 If I had those limitations, I would definitely set max connections, connections per torrent, and upload slots per torrent very low. Scheduler is almost a must-have too.
Biges Posted December 31, 2005 Author Report Posted December 31, 2005 Thanks, but unlimited works best, as I have stated, setting it lower (15 or lower) just dumps the speed.SocksCap freezes µTorrent, any suggestions?

Switeck Posted January 1, 2006 Report Posted January 1, 2006 Well, I have maximum speeds set to unlimited and regulate speed only by maximum connections, active torrents etc., don't worry So what are these limits you are using? If set too high, they could be causing alot of your problems.Having 100's of connections when your line won't do 1 mbps is just abusive...mainly to your connection.
