melonmatt
I was finished downloading my torrents and this brings me to three questions:What do I do if I accidentally removed my torrents? Is there any way to restore them? How do I stop my client from seeding so I can finish it?Some places have said if I remove my torrents, I'll be able to find the data still on my computer. Where is that?
Firon
Why would you stop the seeding? You can use the files when seeding. You need to seed to a decent ratio before removing them.If you remove the torrent but not the data, then loading the .torrent and pointing it to the existing data will let you resume. melonmatt
But how do I use the program while it's seeding? I'm on Vista, and I'm not even sure how to open it, the open button isn't usable.
moogly
You can seed your finished torrents and use the files (e.g. play the video or open a RAR archive). Go in "Files" column, right click on the file and "open". Or go in your folder where your torrents are and use the files. If you remove the files from the "downloads" folder of uT, it's not a problem. You need just to recopy them in the "downloads" folder and to verify the torrent with uT. And you will seed again.Same processing if you delete the .torrent but not the files, download again the .torrent on the tracker and uT will verify the files and seed again. When you have finished, if your account on the tracker (private offen) needs to keep a good ratio, let seeding them.
rambam1776
Let me add to this one a bit - I am not a newbie, but had no need to register with this forum until now. Today I was flipping through my hotkeys a little too fast and absentmindedly, and accidentally (by using ctrl+A) deleted the torrent and data of a few of my torrents while trying to adjust their bit rates. Is there anyway to get them back - an undo command? Or are they simply gone and I will have to re-download my own own stuff?
Firon
You'll have to reload every single .torrent and point it to the existing data. The .torrent files may still be stored in %AppData%\uTorrent.If you deleted the data too, then you're out of luck.
rambam1776
Thx - I'll just have to be more careful in the future how i structure everything. Luckily, most of my stuff is well seeded enough that i can reclaim it.
PGLeigh
Sorry- a real newbie- but how do I 'point it to the existing data'? [from #6 in 'Accidently removed my torrents' thread] I have the .torrent file & the data, but having used the 'Remove' command, I'm now trying looking for an Undo procedure. Thanks for any suggestions
moogly
There is no 'undo' button in µT.If you have the data and the corresponding .torrent files, so reload the torrent into µT.http://www.utorrent.com/documentation/migrate
