Biffo the Bear
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place, but I'm posting this info as a possible heads-up to as many people as possible. This morning (July 9), MS Automatic Update Service offered me update KB951748. I installed it and rebooted. Next thing I know, my uTorrent won't upload anything (I've no D/Ls running at present), and shortly after that I couldn't connect to the Internet at all. I've now uninstalled the update and everything is back to normal.
DreadWingKnight
Are you using a non-default net.max_halfopen in your advanced settings?
Biffo the Bear
Net.max_halfopen is 50.As I said, I also lost my entire Internet connection, and having posted this info in several places on the Web, I'm now getting replies from others saying that the same thing happened to them
jewelisheaven
Press RESET for max_halfopen.Interrupted connections regularly result from futzing with your half open without reason and ESPECIALLY by increasing it.

Switeck
So now even Microsoft is conspiring with "other forces" to make everyone's internet experience bad.
GTHK
ZoneAlarm breaking isn't really news, just that the update can affect other firewalls
Firon
Firewalls on Windows are nothing but hacks. That's why they break everything.
