mnky42
Hello,Here's one thing I'm never sure about...Let's say I start downloading a file, but I don't want the whole thing so I'm only dl'ing about 20% of the total file. utorrent finds me a peer who shows as posessing 60%. Is that 60% of the total file or 60% of the 20% I want? You see the difference, yes? If someone has 60% of the total file, then there's an outside chance he has all of the 20% I'm after. If it's 60% of my 20%, then I need to wait for more peers.I'm not losing sleep over this but if anyone knows, that would move me one tiny step closer to my goal of being all-knowing. I guess it would technically be two steps, since then I'd also know who knew the answer. Whatever. Thanks,The only-partly-knowing mnky42
hermanm
Lay off the weed for a while... Your 20% is 20% of the total file pieces for that torrent.Their 60% is 60% of the total file pieces for that torrent.> If it's 60% of my 20%, then I need to wait for more peers.Their 60% could contain all of your 20% or none of it.> Whatever.Exactly! mnky42
Thanks for the clarification. > Your 20% is 20% of the total file pieces for that torrent.Um, yeah. I think I got that part.> Their 60% is 60% of the total file pieces for that torrent. That's the bit I needed!Much appreciated. Sadly, the only weed involved is growing on the lawn, but thanks for the OK to leave them there for a while.
jewelisheaven
If you want to see HOW MUCH the other peers have which you DO NOT, right click on the column headers in Peers tab, and enable "Relevance"
hermanm
Relevance is the percent of the torrent contents that the peer has that you currently do not have.Wow, I learned something new today.
