ToRRenTPimP Posted July 10, 2008 Report Share Posted July 10, 2008 i'M NOT THAT NEW TO UtORRENR HAVING ONLY TOUCHED MY FIRST KEYBOARD 3 MONTH AGO BUT DOWNLOADED 150 GIG SINCE AND THIS HAS MY HEAD BATTERED. i AM TRYING TO DO A FILE AND I AM 72% INTO IT BUT IT HASN'T MOVED IN 2 DAYS. I HAVE 1 SEED AND 2 PEERS WITH AVAILABILITY AT 1.723. WITH THE RIGHT CLICK OPTIONS I HAVE BANDWIDTH HIGH, DOWNLOAD UNLIMITED AND UPLOAD AT 10. ALL LIGHTS ARE GREEN AND NO OTHER DOWNLOADS HAVE A PROBLEM ALTHOUGH THEY ARE STOPPED AS I TRY TO FIX THIS. I TRIED TO LOG IN WITH THE CONNECTED SEED WITH HTTP:// HIS IP./ORG AND GOT A FOR SALE WEBSITE SO I CAN'T CONTACT THE SEED IN CASE HE'S UPLOADING O.O1 KBS OR SO. I've never known this happen with having no connection problems and availability is well over 1 at 1.723 so all i can think of is that the seed is only uploading 0.01 or so but if that's the case i should still be getting something????????? ToRRenTPimP Posted July 10, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 10, 2008 Sorry if it didn't seem clear the way i worded it.The file has downloaded fine up until 72%.I have 1 seed and 3 peers.Availability is 1.723.My connection is fine.The options you get by right clicking the download are set at high bandwidth, unlimited download speed and 10 kbs upload limit.I now have a blank where the current download and upload speeds are and no E.T.AAll other files done in the timebeing have been fineAll graphs etc at the bottom for dht etc are working and i have a green circle in the middle.Do you have ANY idea what could be preventing the remainder of the file being downloaded? :/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

During the night it must have started and finished which is a pity because it would of been nice to solve the problem instead of waiting for it to happen again. As far as i know regarding the peers, i was the furthest progressed but it doesnt really matter now but thanks anyway Ultima and till next time. Just as an afterthought Ultima, with the availability being 1.723 and me being stuck at 72.3% it seems that it was falsely reporting the seeds connection. If the seed was'nt there i would of had the same exact figures that i did have. Have you known this to happen before? Strange! :/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Switeck Posted July 11, 2008 Report Share Posted July 11, 2008 There may be a real seed on the torrent...it's just running horribly slowly.Like <0.1 KB/sec and uploading randomly to everyone but you of course. To top that off, until a single peer gets a WHOLE piece from that seed...all that uploading is worthless.So how long does it take to upload 4 MB at 0.1 KB/sec divided between 20 peers? ToRRenTPimP Posted July 11, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 11, 2008 That was one of my considerations in my earlier posts on this topic although there was only 2 peers after myself and i was getting nothing at all through up or down hence the no ETA. Guess it will stay one of those mysteries unless it happens again. I was almost disappointed it finished with not getting the answer to the problem first!! As far as what you said about the piece from the seed, i have only been into computers for 3 month and i don't know what you mean at that point but i am learning quick. Does uTorrent not save the file piece until it's completed? One problem i had today that's happened twice is after forwarding a port two weeks ago (took 2 hours first time!!), it didn't stay forwarded and i had to re-do it a week later then again today. Luckily today when it happened i was on the computer at the time and it's windows updates knocking it off but the settings at the router were backed up by me after the first time which i was glad of. That was 100% the problem as i was looking at the screen at the time so maybe you could add that to a sticky if it's not already there. Switeck Posted July 11, 2008 Report Share Posted July 11, 2008 File pieces aren't shared to others unless the complete piece is gotten AND hash-checked.So if the piece size for the torrent is 4 MB, that can take an awful long time...especially if the lone seed is uploading to lots of people at once at very low speeds each.
