Rowsdower
I'm not on a router and this is the only computer connected to my DSL connection. I'd like to limit the amount of bandwidth uTorrent uses when downloading files, but unfortunately, it seems to ignore the settings I've applied. I've managed to limit upload speeds to ~25K but only by setting upload limit to 20K. If I try to limit download speed to something like 50K so I can play online games, it ignores the setting and my games don't run very smoothly. Any ideas what's going on? Firon
It's very difficult to cap download, and the upload limiting DOES work, it averages to about the amount you set (unlike other clients, µt doesn't show averages). What you may wanna do is turn off DHT, which may be causing that. And uh, get cFosSpeed so you can do traffic shaping on your PC and not have these problems in the first place. Rowsdower
And yet other programs do this. I shouldn't have to buy a third-party package to use a feature that's built into the software. Sounds like a bug in uTorrent to me. Thank
Firon
Didn't I tell you to turn off DHT and see if the bandwidth use went "normal"? If it does, it means that your DHT was using the max bandwidth (4KB/s), which isn't really a bug.
Rowsdower
It turns out that if you have the scheduling set it ignores whatever you've set the the limit to. I turned scheduling off and it works fine.
