Crashing all the time

I am a newbie from bitcomet. Moved here as my bitcomet started to crash all the time and find that I crash with utorent as well. Guess that settles the issue as to weather it is my system or the software - it's my system.

I have xp sp3 running, wireless linksys router and adapter; wrt300n and wusb300n.

I don't have any gaming applications etc.

I have read all the info I could on the forums but do not see any solutions that apply to me. I have tried all the 'general' solutions to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the above software.

I would appreciate any help I can get, I am very frustrated and I am sure my seeding is frustrating as well as I crash so many times.

I apalogize if I have missed a posted solution in advance and Thanks so much for any info you can give.

a) get HijackThis from trendsecure.com, run it, view the log, and post the contents here

get Process Explorer from sysinternals.com, run it, Ctrl+D (to show the lower DLL pane), select the µTorrent process from the list, Ctrl+S (and save the list somewhere you'll find easily -- like the Desktop), then post the contents of the saved process list in the .txt file here

Also, how is the CPU usage for µTorrent?

If that isn't it. ...could be the USB interface. Try not using it. If you do, don't use the bundled software. Try only using windows drivers :/

Have you tried connecting wired to the internet? Instead of using the wireless adapter.

BitTorrent DNA has been known to have issues with LinkSys Routers in the past (it took a 2 minute web search to discover that little nugget), and BtDNA was reverse-engineered from µTorrent ...

it's not 'reverse engineered' from ut, it's built from it.

It's a bit dated currently iirc, they're using b.97xx

and it doesn't quite use the same layout... at least on the files I tried to port from DNA to uT.

In either case, yeah isolate one part of your networking one piece at a time... from wireless to USB to wired to no router, etc.

If I remove AVG then what do I use as a antivirus? I know about the linksys issue but so far could not find this router and adapter as causing issues - update to the latest firmware and drivers as well. I will try the hard wire and see how it goes. Thanks for all the advice. Corinne
