Hi, I am very new to this forum and apparently only here I can write a post. I have been using utorrent for some time now and I never had any problems. Howerver, few days ago, my IE would not work at all (it would say Connecting but it would never connect) if utorrent is on, regardless if Im downloading/uploading or not.

I read and tried all Common procedure but nothing seems to work.

the colour of the uTorrent status bar is green

Well, firstly you're on Rogers; I'm sorry. You will want to reduce the number of connections per torrent and turn off extra features like DHT and LPD if you're already setup CORRECTLY.. if not, in Ctrl-G select something HIGHLY restrictive like xx/128 for starters. Even the limited settings from the Speed Guide which you're using now may not be low enough. Can you think of anything else which happened around the time your internet stopped working? If you turn off and back on the SMC does internet come back?

Secondly did you install non-english software O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [?????????] ??????????????e?

Also I see ESET there... If you're using v 2.7 you should remove/turn off IMON and add uTorrent to the exclusions list. There's a sticky or you should be able to search rather easily for "ESET" configuration.

Everything was working fine except my speed slowed down to like 0.9 - 5 so I checked here how to make it faster. Then I ran the Speed Test on Speed Guide and ever since then my EI is not working. All the programs I had before even ESET SmartSecurity 3.0.621.0. With regards to Rogers Cable, I've been using it for ages now so I don't think thats the problem. I tried lowering the upload limit to 5 and it still doesnt help.

I dont know what is the "non-english software" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [?????????] ??????????????e?

What should I do with it? How?

How do I restrict connections per torrent?

I have internet connection all the time and uTorrent is downloading or uploading, but my Internet Explorer (browser) doesnt work. Whatever page I want to open it just says Connecting... and its attempting to connect. However, when I turn off uTorrent and wait like 2-3 min the IE starts working again.

Rogers throttles all encrypted traffic, last I heard...possibly to only around 30 KiloBYTES/second total. They may also let a small amount of unencrypted BitTorrent traffic through...potentially adding to your encrypted traffic.

I'd say forced outgoing connections and allow legacy incoming.

DHT, UPnP, Local Peer Discovery, and Resolve IPs -- DISABLE IT ALL!

Keep Peer Exchange enabled.

...And possibly reduce your global and per-torrent connection max even below the values I have in the 2nd link in my signature. No sense paying bandwidth for extra connections that just counts against your throttled max limit, seeing as how the throttled max limit is likely really low. :(
