Charming Phoebe
Twice so far the "Check For Updates" function has failed to inform me of new version releases for uTorrent 1.8 - 11200 RC1 and 11439 RC2. It just tells me that everything is up to date and there is no new version. So I have to visit and install manually - both times causing initial problems with access errors on existing torrents. I thought the Automatic Updating process helped avoid these problems, but if it doesn't work any more then some advice on manual installation issues like the aforementioned "access errors" would be welcome.I'm running Vista Premium with SP1. Firon
RC2 isn't on the updater. Releases always go on the download page before they go on the updater.
Charming Phoebe
So I should be more patient. Actually RC2 addresses many problems that I found irritating, and I'm happy over it's release.
jewelisheaven
Irritating between RC1? Changelog covers SO MUCH from 1.7. Sure there's lots of tightening, and additional features.
Firon
Basically, yes, you should be more patient. It will go on the updater later today.
Charming Phoebe
I won't go into detail here about RC1 > RC2 as my worry about the Updater was misplaced and has been addressed so consider this thread "sewn up" LOL
Ultima
Just FYI, there is generally a delay between release and auto-update because we'd prefer for there to be a time buffer in case something crucial got screwed up in the latest release. With the buffer, if something gets screwed up and is detected early-on, it won't be circulated as widely as if everyone were to auto-update to the "bad" build.
