jay_e
Greetings,I'm currently using 1.8 build 11200.I have 13 torrents that I seed. - and they are shown when I start µTorrent.BUT there is data in seeds and peers that immediately is displayed - before any connections are made.I suspect that this is old data.Could µTorrent zero out this data when it starts - and, then, update it as seeds and peers are actually found? Also, I have looked in the FAQ for an explanation od the seed and peer data - and can't find it.For example, one torrent showsSeeds 0(1)peers 0(3)What are the two numbers listed - with and without parentheses??Looking at the tracker tab data, DHT lists Seeds:1 Peers:1local Peer discovery lists Seeds:0 Peers:0peer exchange lists Seeds:0 Peers:0http://[tracker] lists Seeds:1 Peers:0These don't add up.......also, how is the local node counted? as a seed?? as a peer???Thanks!!Jay
DreadWingKnight
Actually, that data is obtained from tracker immediately at startup and is not cached from the previous session. The descriptions of the other data are covered in the user guide. jay_e
Found data:In the local help manual ->Appendix A -> Main Window -> Torrent Job list there is:Seeds displays the number of seeds you are connected to, and the number of seeds in the swarm within the parentheses. The number of seeds in the swarm is an estimate based on the number of seeds µTorrent has encountered within its peer cache. If the torrent job is stopped, and bt.scrape_stopped is enabled, µTorrent will show the number of seeds in the swarm as reported by the tracker scrape. and...Peers displays the number of peers you are connected to, and the number of peers in the swarm within the parentheses. The number of peers in the swarm is an estimate based on the number of peers µTorrent has encountered within its peer cache. If the torrent job is stopped, and bt.scrape_stopped is enabled, µTorrent will show the number of peers in the swarm as reported by the tracker scrape. So, it looks like the count comes from a cache.I did a test. 1) stop µTorrent 2) disconnect All connctions to internet. 3) Start µTorrentThe indicator turned red as expected.BUT - The Seeds and Peers Counts both showed non-zero counts. This gets back to my original request - a function to reset the counts.A friend did point me toward the answer - which was also in:In the local help manual ->Appendix A -> Main Window -> Torrent Job list (Scroll down to "Context Menu")If you right-click on a torrent job, you'll see a context menu. They are described in the following list:... Advanced ... Clear Peer List allows you to clear all peers from the peer list for the selected torrent job(s). This clears the cache and the counts. The counts are updated as the peers are discovered.-------------------------Also, the local help manual explained the tracker info:(Listed here so others can save a click or 5..)In the local help manual ->Appendix A -> Detailed Info Pane -> Trackers:Seeds displays the number of seeds returned by the tracker scrape. Peers displays the number of peers returned by the tracker scrape.
