"Connection closed by peer"

Either your ISP is crippling your connection, the trackers are now blocking you, you've got hostile software (viruses/trojans/bad commercial software) on your computer, or you've got really bad settings in uTorrent.

1st and 2nd links in my signature should be able to help most of that...

hey, i have the same issue. and i did the forced encryption option, i checked for possible solutions and i saw that this is a common problem ppl in malaysia face. the thing is, i don't live in malaysia, i'm in greece and i still don't get why this happenend. i have disabled the win vista firewall and i have also unblocked utorrent in the eset smart security firewall, so that shouldn't be the issue, as i was able to download before.

so what's the deal with this? it's actually the first time it happens..is there any solution to this or is it just a thing one should wait and be patient about?

sweethizashi,

karate here:

seems to be on the same ISP as you (athedsl-######.home.otenet.gr).

And also experiencing problems, though his seems to just be very low upload speeds rather than "Connection closed by peer".

Another person on same ISP is having "Connection closed by peer" problems:

IGITIHI (also on same ISP) said ISP is shaping BitTorrent traffic:

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

TO SWEETTHIZASHI:

I live in Greece too, all my torrents are from the same tracker - I have an account - and I haven't been blocked or sent any notification. So I just tried to add a torrent from a different tracker and guess what: no problem. I think I'll take the "it is just a thing one should wait and be patient about" choice and hope it won't take long...
