flexalong
Hi ALL,I am using utorrent 1.7.7 on windows vista. I followed exactly instructions from http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT54G/Utorrent.htm, but I can't seem to get it open. I did a static ip of 150 which is outside the dhcp range and I checked and re-checked. But it just keep giving the error message" "Error! Port 45682 does not appear to be open. Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port."I have done a port forward successfully before but I just can't get it to work this time. Please help...Many thanksflexalong

flexalong
Thanks DreadWingKnight, but it still doesn't work, still showing that yellow sign "No incoming connections, unless icon turns green, it could indicate a problem with your netwirk connection."Sigh...flexalong
Firon
Could you post a HijackThis log? Furthermore, check your router's status page. Does it show an IP that looks like a LAN IP, or a real IP?

Firon
Go into your ROUTER'S config and check its status page to see what IP it has assigned.
flexalong
Hi Firon, I checked and its different from the static ip I set up. It shows an ip that is 192.168.1..., while the static ip I use is 192.168.2....???
Firon
Are you sure that's not the gateway IP?I'm asking what IP the router itself obtained from the modem.

Firon
That's from your router? If that's from your router's status page, then it seems like your modem is functioning as a router.
flexalong
Yeah its from the router's webpage, under status. What should I do?...
Firon
Go into your modem's configuration page and disable the router part of it.
flexalong
I am not sure how to go about doing that but when I went into the modem's website, I see "Game and application sharing" with UPnP enabled and an option to "Assign a game or application to a local network device". Will assigning utorrent help??
Firon
Look in the configuration for anything like "bridge mode" or "switch mode" or something like that. Anything that would indicate being able to disable NAT/NAPT.
flexalong
I don't see any of that option and I don't see NAT/NAPT either. Should I enable "UPnP port mapping" in utorrent?
Firon
That won't do you any good. You're behind two routers right now. You need to make one of them act as a switch (or bridge). Check your router's config for the same.If all else fails, you may have to go buy a switch and replace your router with it.
