hanseivan
When I shut down my computer without closing Utorrent first I have noticed that the next time Utorrent starts on system startup it doesn't check the files.I usually close Utorrent when surfing the internet and then starts it up again after, but then it has to check all the files. How come theres a difference between the two startups and can I somehow disable the checkin procedure?regardsHans Ivansen
Switeck
uTorrent v1.8 checks a LOT less if uTorrent crashes/shuts down unexpectedly.
Firon
You should try enabling bt.graceful_shutdown.
hermanm
Sometimes I seed multiple torrents with the same file. I wouldn't mind if the force recheck could be turned off. Then indicate an error with a torrent if a sent piece fails hash check.
thelittlefire
Force recheck is a manual recheck. The checking described is automatic...How is your client which is SENDING the data to know that the RECEIVING client fingered your client as the bad peer? hermanm
> Force recheck is a manual recheck. The checking described is automatic...We are talking about the same thing. I used the same terminology of "Force Recheck" which I agree is confusing.> SENDING the data to knowYou bring up a good point. I wouldn't support a protocol spec change just to save a minutes of checking a new torrent against existing files.
Firon
1.8 checks much less data than 1.7.7. It only checks recently written files on crash (or improper exit).
