wetwet
Hi guys,Is it possible for a movie or file (same content) to share two different torrent filename? If yes, is there a way to determine that the 2 torrent files belong to the same movie before downloading? Many Thanks..Wetwet
Switeck
If both torrents have the same hash for the file, they are the same file.
thelittlefire
It is near-impossible for different-named files to create the same INFOHASH (.TORRENT files' INFO dictionary store the filenames). HOWEVER if they have the same file-hash indeed they are likely to be the same file AS LONG AS you used the same algorithm to hash them with. Common ones are MD4, MD5, or in the case of piece-hash-data SHA1.
hermanm
Make a backup copy of your movie file. Download the .torrent file. Stop the torrent, the do a Force Recheck. If the file is the same, you should have 100% complete on that file (or possibly have the edges not hash right, so it might be 99.5%).
