Is it true that utorrent will dl faster when minimized to tray?

I have found this to be true. Lately, if I minimize, something will dl faster. If I pull the UT window back up, the speed will decrease sharply.

Also, oddly, on slow downloading items, I found that if I open something like a video on another site, like cnn or youtube, the speed will jump up, even if temporarily. When before, I thought that closing everything else would give my resources to UT.

My thought, is that it might open another port or mix around the ports i have open to use. Just a theoretical thought, but I have seen this over the last few days to be true.
