jiggle it
When I click to open uTorrent, this is the error I recieve. I have the option to click Cancel, Try Again or Continue. Regardless of what I click, the same box pops up again instantaneously. It goes away when I end the uTorrent process with Task Manager and click cancel. uTorrent never opens.Any ideas what is going on?
Firon
Are you running it from a floppy or something?
jiggle it
no, it is really wierd. I have ran it before on this computer without a problem. I even downloaded older versions and the same thing happens
Firon
Well, I know that's a Windows error, but it's incredibly bizarre... do any of the other files on the same drive open? All I can think of is re-download utorrent.exe and save it somewhere else.
jiggle it
Its on my only drive, the C drive, and the rest of the computer is acting normally. I had uTorrent saved in my programs folder, and I have also tried it on the desktop. Wierd one... at least my other computer is running my torrents fine. Firon
So, it doesn't matter where you save it?Okay, try saving it again in your programs folder, but this time create a blank file named settings.dat there. You may have to unhide extensions to do this.
ludde
It must be related to some torrent you have loaded. It has some of its files on some floppy or something.Try deleting all torrents and retry.
Lynkz83
ok this issue has probably been resolved by now, but i recently came across this issue and i found that in my options i still had some default locations point to a drive that is no longer in my computer, therefore it was causing issues and would pop up with the no disk in drive msg
ajones81
Whoa! Talk about resurrecting ancient threads! For a while I read the post above yours and was wondering how/when ludde had returned?
Lynkz83
sorry mate, i had this issue the other day and i found this thread thought i would post my resolution just in case kinda thing if it was posted else where sorry for the jump this just happened to be the thread i came across
ajones81
Not a problem at all, so no need to apologise. We encourage people to continue in existing threads if they're facing the same problem. Appreciate your contribution in fact. Was just thrown off by the fact that at a glance ludde seemed to have been recently active on this thread, which wasn't the case. ludde, as you might know, is the person who single-handedly developed and maintained uTorrent (quite a feat IMO!) before he sold it off to BitTorrent Inc., whose devs are doing a bang-up job ever since. Lynkz83
ahh, well i hope this might help someone else, that comes across the same issue, mine had to deal with the store location for downloaded, completed, and autoload torrents, was set to G:\Torrent Files\ but now G:\ is my burner after my recent format, so the ppl having this issue may wanna check their download locations in options
