Ti1e
HeyJust d/l and installed uTorrent, does not seem to be connect and the port forwarding test keeps failing"Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.Checking port 10689 on 203.51.146.114...Error! Port 10689 does not appear to be open. Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port. Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5)."I have set static IP and forwarded the port on my router. I have gone through everything I can find on the Ultima Guide in reference to no connection. Firon
Uninstall, then give µTorrent a whirl. If it works, you can reinstall it and figure out what in TM's options is blocking ut.

Firon
Can you run tcpview while running utorrent? Can you see if utorrent is even able to listen on a port, and if anything else listens on that port?On another note, does it work if you connect directly to the modem?
Ti1e
Hey man, Yes it listens on the port i opened (53481) and thats it. It brings up SYN_SENT for a couple addresses and then they go red and disappear. I get UDP processes on 53481 and 6771. No, I lose all internet when I go straight into my modem , I think there are some settings I have to change to do that but I can't remember them. I think the issue is the modem, it has a firewall but I even opened it up on that so I dunno what the problemo is. Limewire used to work on my PC and that stopped working about 4 months ago for no reason too.
Switeck
Are you sure that uTorrent can sustain an upload speed of 92 KiloBYTES/second?Most Australian ISPs give terrible upload speeds. ...and/or they outright cripple BitTorrent traffic in some ways:http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs#Australia
Ti1e
Yea I realised I had set that wrong. So i tested it and worked it out using the setup speed tweak for 20kB/s. I got an upload speed of about 190 kilobits/second.Also I ran another test I found a link for on this website that said my ISP was not restricting my BitTorrent d/ls, Bigpond isn't on that link either. Firon
Try restarting the modem after you connect your PC to it.
Ti1e
ok, i had left the static ip on. so internet is working straight from the modem, utorrent still is not working so it's either the modem? or something on my pc (i feel its the latter but i dont know what it could be)
Switeck
It could be very time-consuming, but you could do internet web searches (with GOOGLE or whatever) of all the programs found in your HijackThis! log...to determine if any of them are reported as problem-causers for uTorrent/BitTorrent clients. Or if they're hostile software in general. Almost everything by Microsoft shouldn't be a problem, besides their firewall...but that should be easy enough to configure or disable if you're using it. Ti1e
had a browse through on http://www.processlibrary.com. all seems to check out finethe only d/l program that works is imesh and there is a pretty small range on there. dc++ is very temperamental and i've managed to search but never download off there.i tried changing the port again, no luck. maybe i'm doomed to a windows re-install? or actually going to the music store and buying it shh i didnt say that
Switeck
Typical things that interfere with uTorrent are media indexers:O23 - Service: NMIndexingService - Nero AG - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NMIndexingService.exe...software firewalls and maybe network-using specialty stuff like dedicated VPN software. So that's stuff to try uninstalling and reinstalling. It could be more than 1 thing blocking uTorrent, so don't just uninstall 1 thing at a time.
Ti1e
all uninstalled. why does is say that the port is not open when there is nothing to block it!!!Here is the interface on my modems firewall:Perhaps there is something there that is no good. Ti1e
Modem is 10.0.0.138Copied:uTorrent.exe:3468 UDP computile:6771 *:*
Firon
That explains it.Either your modem is a router, or your ISP is putting you behind a LAN. And more than likely, it's the latter, as 10. IPs tend to be used by ISPs for their LANs.You should try to access your modem's IP in a browser and see if it has any configuration. What model is it? Ti1e
its the 2-wire 2071-Ai added and image of advanced settings above. there is also a normal settings page which you can open ports on, i followed the portforwarding guide on that one and i believe i forwarded it:O:O just tested it, getting about 140-155kB/snow just to try and put it back through the router
Firon
You can't really do double NAT... it won't work properly. What you need to do is configure either the modem or the router to not act as one, but instead act as a switch (often called bridge mode).
Ti1e
got it working with the router! speeds are much slower though, about 60kB/s, ill have to play aroundthanks so much to both you guys! i really didnt think i'd ever get it working. i dont suppose ou guys really have a boss i can pass on how impressed i am to do you? Firon
Ti1e, if you can make your router act as a switch, that'd make your life easier (and probably give better performance).
