tkl
I had follow the steps at PortForward.comI have obtained ip, subnet mask, default gateway addresses; however, both the default gateway and name server have the same addresses, and so PortForward.com said "Log into your router's web interface, and look at your router's status page. On that page you should see an entry for DNS Servers, or Name Servers"The problem is where is my "router's web interface"? and what is that?Sorry if it sounds simple. and Thanks! Firon
Generally, visiting the gateway address in your browser is how you access it.

Firon
96.247.80.138 is your WAN IP. This IP is what everything outside of your local network sees. When port forwarding, you need to assign a static IP for your computer. Furthermore, it needs to be set outside of the DHCP range for your router (the router should tell you what range of IPs that is, and also let you configure it). tkl
Outside my DHCP range? So like if my DHCP starts at 192.165.0.100 and ends at 192.165.0.199 then i need to get a IP static address either below 100 or above 199?I went through the steps the get my static IP, but i guess it doesn't feel like i've gotten it for some reason. Do we choose our own static IP? (well i kind of did, when i first did the ipconfig /all, the ipv4 address was 192.168.0.103 (preferred). Then i somehow changed it to 192.168.0.33, but it didn't work, so i "erased" it by selecting the "obtain the IP address automatically." However, when i did the ipconfig /all again, this time the ipv4 is 192.168.0.33 (preferred), even though i thought i had "erased" it.)I used the information on the ipconfig /all and put it in the internet protocol version 4 configuration, and at portforward.com it said afterthat i'm "done." So is the static IP the one in my ipconfig /all?ugh, i'm so confused. technical stuff sigh~Please help thnx!btw are the lan and wan ip addresses not my static address? and how come my wan default gateway and DNS have the same address yet in my ipconfig /all are different? Firon
Yes, you have to manually setup and choose a static IP. You don't do it in your router, you do it in the LAN connection settings on your PC. You don't touch anything related to IP in the router.Whatever IP you choose is the one that'll show up in ipconfig afterwards.

rhuizen
This is what i think. You are using now ip address 192.168.0.103 for your pc.Set in your router (//192.168.0.1) 192.168.0.103 TCP 63672/63672 alwaysCheck on your system if the windows firewall is running.Yes add then this port (63672) to it.Now test the connection again.regards,Raoul
tkl
i tried that. it didn't work.My firewall was off all this time i had been testing the port.I don't know why the steps tell me to put "both" instead of just TCP but i tried both ways too and no luck.Any other problems might this happen?sigh~ this is so complicated... The error was: "unknown error" (kCFErrorDomainWinSock:10054) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Help menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message." i can get to other sites just fine/connection's fine, but not this one/ the one to my router.
