Firon
Are you sure that is your actual upload? I think you're mistaking download for upload. It's highly unlikely that your upload and download are both 1mbit.
madry
my download speed on utorrent is like 12kb/s and my upload is like 10kb/s
Switeck
You seem to be on Rogers Cable ISP in Canada, one of the most awful ISPs as far as BitTorrent is concerned. So your low speeds may be because of that. You probably need to use the 256 kilobits/second upload speed max for testing if too high an upload speed is a problem. madry
ok i somewhat fixed it but not it will goo all the way upto 120kB/s then drop down to like 20kB/s
Switeck
Have you tried all the things in the troubleshooting guide to get speeds up?Something else to try:http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Avoid_traffic_shaping
BlueFern
I hope I am not breaching protocol by raising my own very similar problems here. Please advise if so and I will raise elsewhere (this is my first entry so please advise correct action). I am trying to download a torrent that is nearly 7GB and its been going over 1 day and estimates that it will take another 2 or 3 days. My average download speed is 22kB/s and upload about 12kB/s. My broadband plan is for 2MB speed downloads & speed tests show that is being achieved. I've checked that my ISP is not a known blocker and that seems OK. I have read your suggested information in the guide, forums, FAQ etc but no luck anywhere. I've done the whole port forwarding thing and subscribed to a provider to make sure that is OK. I have a green icon with a tick at bottom of main screen. I've chosen xx/96 in speed guide (though my ISP plan says its 128 & speed test shows its about 121) BUT it keeps defaulting back to "use current settings". There are over 10 copies available, 5 seeds connected, 33 peers connected. My ratio shows at just over half (though general stats show 1.7+). I don't understand what the information in the debug columns are telling me and wonder if that would assist? On the main screen it sometimes shows 0/0/5 or 5/0/5, and on the peers panel the first number is anything from 0 to 100+ and the 2nd number is invariably -1. Sorry this is so long and garbled - I really have tried to find the answer myself. Many thanks.
Switeck
In Speed Guide (CTRL+G), when you choose xx/96k...you then have to click "Use Selected Settings" at the bottom right of the window. When you go to re-view the settings in Speed Guide again, the Connection Type will show "(Current Settings)"...reflecting what the settings are now.I don't know what the debug is in the PEERS window, but in the main window I know what 2 of the 3 values mean. The first number, which in your example seems to alternate between 0 and 5, is how many new outgoing connections are being attempted at this moment -- these are HALF OPEN connections. That number should NEVER be larger than the value for half open connection max in uTorrent's advanced settings.I don't really know what the 2nd number does. The 3rd and last number is the current number of upload slots for that torrent that uTorrent allows. It is always equal or lower than the upload slots per torrent max setting. That your debug is showing 5 upload slots allowed...means uTorrent is NOT currently running with the xx/96k settings!
