ZoMbIe828
Say you start a multi-file torrent while bt.compact_allocation is set to false. You get to 10% completed, Stop, set bt.compact_allocation to true and resume. Also say you do this vice-versa, starting a torrent with the setting on true, stopping and resuming on false. And downloading two torrents at the same time, each of which had been started under the opposite setting...Can doing any of this screw up the (video) files when they're completed? I've already done some of the things I've mentioned. These are some big torrents downloading on a slow connection, with a good percentage already downloaded - so starting a torrent over isn't an option I'd like to look at. Should I be bothering to back up my incomplete torrents?
DreadWingKnight
No. Because data is validated with hash checks, the data will not be corrupt when you complete.
thelittlefire
Uhm, your situation doesn't exist sorry to tell you, compact_allocation can't be changed once torrents are started...As a corollary to DWKnight's statement, if your data is "corrupt" or does not complete it was corrupted at the source.
