Newbie lost in the jungle

I'm trying to set up utorrent and having a great deal of trouble finding the information I need i the jungle of forums.

First things first.

Should expolerer open utorrent when I click on a torrent to download it?

I currently have to copy link and open url in utorrent to start download.

i think you can try to let utorrent.exe as torrent file's default opener.
