barrycj Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 I keep all my torrents and downloads on an external HD.If I start my machine with the drive disconnected, utorrent correctly reports that all the files are missing, however it re-checks everything when the drive is re-connected.Is there a way to skip this re-check, other than running utorrent from the external drive?
DreadWingKnight Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Start uTorrent after connecting the external drive.
barrycj Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 The drive in question is a media drive which has to have the usb connection removed from the machine to play media (very annoying!).The problem occurs when I forget to plug it back in and utorrent is run - normally at boot.It takes a day to re-check everything!Hence my original post.
thelittlefire Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Use 1.8, it may not do that IF you have a correct saved state with the auto recheck.
barrycj Posted August 4, 2008 Author Report Posted August 4, 2008 Thanks for that, I will look at 1.8 when it comes out of beta.In the meantime I have written a batch file to start uTorrent but ONLY if a file on the H drive is visible. This works well under Win98 but I can't figure out how to automatically close the command window it leaves behind in Vista.
