chucklepie Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 Hello,I've just recently upgraded from a bt home hub version 1 to a bt home hub version 2. Ever since then running utorrent (version 1.7.7 on windows xp) has caused my connection to stop working after a couple of hours use (everything goes red in utorrent, browsing stops, etc). The only way to get it working again is by doing a 'repair' on my lan connection, which effectively resets connection, renews the ip address, etc.I've tried changing the ports which doesn't fix it. I'm using the upnp option so that I don't have to do any port forwarding on the router (which is working as it is uploading/downloading fine).I've tried changing the number of 'global maximum connections' from 800 to 200 to see if that works. Windows firewall is turned off and I'm using peer guardian, avg8 and spybot. Are there any obvious things that might be causing this lock out that I can change/check?Thanks.
_Aes_Sedai_ Posted August 4, 2008 Report Posted August 4, 2008 I use a linksys befsx41 v2 and interestingly enough my connection odes the same thing, though utorrent does not cause it. I still have not figured out the root issue on that one. I have replaced all my network cables, and changed out my ethernet ports, but none of that helped, so it has to be some sort of configuration issue. Sorry I can't be of much help.
Switeck Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Reduce global AND per-torrent connection max to 60, lower half open max in advanced settings to 4, disable DHT, LPD, UPnP, and Resolve IPs....And tell us if that at least works.
