medhist
At present I have 4 uploads running with a combined speed of 150+k. My 3 downloads have a total of just under 10k. Since our monthly usage is alloted by our isp is there any way to balance the uploads and downloads so that we share equally? Last month I found that over 70% of my allowable usage was in uploads. Many thanksmed
Switeck
2nd link in my signature...lower connection max = less bandwidth spent maintaining lots of connections you can't upload to all at once anyway. Also, DISABLE:DHT, Local Peer Discovery, UPnP, Resolve IPs (in Peers window, right-click, choose from menu). Each one costs extra bandwidth (though UPnP only from the computer to router or modem). wetwet
Dear Switeck & Medhist,I am confused here with the terms "upload" and "download". Does "upload" means I am seeding to other people and download means I am downloading from other people?Medhist mentioned that his "upload" speed for 4 uploads is roughly 150+k. Does that mean he is seeding to other people with such high bandwidth?

But his 3 downloading torrents are uploading at a combined speed of just under 10 KiloBYTES/second. (quite slow considering the seeding torrents!)My guess is the downloading torrents are private torrents with LOTS of seeds and very few peers to upload to. The seeding torrents may or may not be private torrents...and they obviously have no problem finding peers to upload to!With a limited monthly bandwidth quota, you probably have to stop torrents earlier than otherwise...maybe barely reach 1:1 ratio on many of them. Stop torrents with plenty of seeds (per peer) possibly even earlier, as they don't need your help to guarantee others can get the files.Plus do the other things I said in my previous post.
