Problem with uTorrent & Windows 2000

I am very happy with uTorrent apart from one problem which reduces its usability:

The lower window - with the General / Peers / Pieces ... tabs is limited to a very small height and nothing I can do makes it any bigger. This is mainly affects General as the useful information is rendered inaccessible.

This is with uTorrrent 1.7.7 and Windows 2000 (I know... but it does what I want!)

Any help?
