pwncakes55 Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 ... and this problem only happened after reformatting.before the reformat i had utorrent set up perfectly. internet ran smooth while downloading torrents, always. so i reformat and i have a fresh utorrent. i try to remember the settings i had before and i was pretty successful. though, after downloading a little bit i run into slow internet problems. i read up on the stickies and change my settings accordingly but nothing has worked thus far.any help would be greatly appreciated.
Switeck Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 You seem to be on ComCast Cable ISP, like myself.Try the 1 megabit/second upload settings in my speed guide (2nd link in my signature.)If you have the faster tier of service, even the 1.5 or 2 megabit/second upload settings may not be too fast.Did you change any advanced settings in uTorrent? And are you running uTorrent v1.8? ...which is slightly better able to overcome problems caused by ComCast's BitTorrent disruption techniques. If things still don't run well after that, try the 1st link in my signature.
Switeck Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 Strange, pwncakes55 doesn't show as banned.Anyhow, maybe he can still read this. And if he can't reply, my work here's done anyhow.
pwncakes55 Posted August 7, 2008 Author Report Posted August 7, 2008 yes unfortunately im a comcast user.well i updated to v 1.8 and im set at 1 mbit. as far as advanced settings go, i did everything in the 1st link but no improvement in speed at all. im still running as slow as before.thanks for the help though.
Firon Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 Lower your upload setting. Try xx/512k. And do ensure that half-open is 8 or less and DHT is disabled.
Switeck Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 If none of this helps, we'll probably need a HijackThis! and/or Process Explorer log before long.
