nordworldfofann Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Hello all,I've searched trough the forum but I've not find the decision for my problem, that's why I dare to put my question - I can't set up a portforwarding for uTorrent.I'm using following harg & soft- router D-Link DI-524 (WAN type of connection)- network card Realtek RTL8169/8110- Windows XP SP2- uTorrent 1.8I've exactly followed instructions from www.portforward.com to set up portforwarding for wide range of ports and Static IP for my computer, but all time the uTorrent port test page says Port xxx does not appear to be open and connection indicator is orange.(The last port is 49999).Practically the connection for downloading is quite normal but for uploading is very low.Can somebody advise me where the problem could be?Thanks a lot in advance
Firon Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Did you make sure that the static IP lies outside of the D-Link's DHCP range? And make sure your firewall isn't blocking things.
nordworldfofann Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 Concerning the DHCP range - I've tried both: inside and outside - but no result. And I don't use any other farewall apart from Windows buit-in, which I've temporarily swich off for the testing - but it didn't help I use NOD32 as Antivirus soft - but it did not provide any warnings about uTorrent work.
Firon Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Disable NOD32's IMON. And perhaps its HTTP scanner or something.Have you ever been able to forward a port for any application?
nordworldfofann Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 Thank you for your advise. As far as I understand, my problem is an absence of external IP address from provider - not software. So I'm sorry for taking your time.Thank you againg
