No incoming connections, Ports not open apperantly

Hi,

The download speed of my torrents is fine, around 600-700 kbps but the upload speed is dramatic 0.5-1 kbps on average. I've opened the necessary ports on my router and I'm sure I did it correctly. Yet the portchecker still tells me it's closed. I have no firewall so that's not it. Windows firewall is also disabled.

Hi, What is the make & model of your Modem??

You need to set a static IP outside of your router's DHCP range to forward.

If it still doesn't work, connect directly to your modem and see if you get an open port. If not, your modem might also be a router.

How do I find the DHCP range of my router? when I enter "ipconfig /all" in cmd, it gives me this:

Does that mean I should make 192.168.2.2 and make it the static ip?

Ok I'm absolutely lost here. So I'm just gonna document every step I have taken in the hopes someone can find an error.

So my new static ip should be 192.168.2.101, right?

2 Finding out the subnet mask and standard gateway

So according to this:

Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.2.1

3. Find out my ISP's DNS server

P: 195.121.1.34

S: 195.121.1.66

(I called them)

4. Setting up the static IP

5. Forwarding the ports:

Now can someone please tell me what's wrong, because I'm getting really frustrated.

You have the correct static IP now, yes. The final problem I'm seeing is that you are behind a double NAT -- your modem behaves as a router. There are two solutions to this problem that are described in the user manual's advanced port forwarding guide. I suggest you take a look (it'll be some more reading).

Max Number of DHCP users: 50

So my static IP that I chose is 192.168.1.151

But my port does not seem to be open, what can I do?

Nope, the problem is gone! But do you know how to make my port open when I am connected to the Linksys?

But even though the port is open the speeds are really slow. .3 kb up and down

That's what we'll need to figure out now...

Try setting your computer's static IP to 192.168.1.50, and remove/recreate the router's port forwarding rule to forward to that new IP.

but I'm downloading slackware at 86.7kb/s on avg.

Sorry for bumping an old post, but I've recently reinstalled my OS and I did everything EXACTLY the same as in the post I mentioned above. Including forwarding the ports on my modem. But it now tells me no ports are not open.

I've no firewall, only avast, which I don't think has a firewall. Windows firewall is disabled too. Does anybody know what's going wrong?
